We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that produces and distributes original media that offers a fresh perspective on the teachings of Jesus Christ. We have been called to produce excellent, artistic, and engaging content. Through strategic partnerships, we write, develop, produce, and distribute materials designed for both church small groups and individuals. Besides simply producing, our ultimate goal is to finance all our projects through a combination of tax-deductible donations and income from sales of all our previous projects.
Our passion is creating engaging media that brings people closer to Jesus. We’re not called to be preachers or foreign missionaries or youth ministers, but we are called to make incredible films that offer a fresh perspective on Jesus. We produce beautiful, heartfelt, and engaging content that is nothing less than excellent.
As Christians it’s our responsibility to do things with total excellence and we will not sacrifice quality. So we’re prepared to spend the money to use the absolute best cameras and lenses on the market for filming, hire the best production talent available, and the absolute best designers we know.
Henry Mullis, the founder and Executive Director of Light The Dark, is a passionate follower of Christ and has been producing faith-based media for over 15 years. Henry began his career as an employee, producing corporate video projects. During that time, Henry’s entrepreneurial spirit began to grow and he left his job to build his own media production company, Mullis Media Group. Within a year, Mullis Media Group found their niche and began specializing in producing inspirational content for Leadership Development companies. While building his production business, Henry had an opportunity to produce a series of videos meant for small groups of students for Growing Leaders. That project sent Henry on his current trajectory. Over the next few years, he produced many successful small group projects for companies like Crown Financial Ministries and 12Stone Church. During this time, God began to show Henry what a perfect opportunity the small group medium offered to effect change in people’s lives. Henry founded Light The Dark to specifically to write, develop, finance, produce, and distribute content for small groups and to intentionally bring people closer to Jesus.
Henry’s passion is using the small group platform to bring Jesus to people that might not attend a traditional church or small group. Just like missionaries are called to the mission field, Henry feels called to produce incredible films and content to spread the gospel. Light The Dark will produce many different series for men, women, couples, and kids that will be sold in stores and online.
Director of Business Development
Ian Otto is the Director of Business Development at Light the Dark and works side by side with Executive Director Henry Mullis to create and deliver content to be used in small group studies. Ian’s main responsibilities revolve around managing, organizing, networking, fundraising and planning different aspects of filming at Light the Dark. Although Ian is new to video production he has been successful at starting, managing and running a successful medical therapy business. With a background in business and corporate training and a degree from a biblical university, Ian’s diverse background and love of the arts and media make him a perfect fit to help drive new projects and connect people, businesses and churches to the goal of reaching people for Jesus.
